St George Cathedral is located atop the South Boston peninsula at the crest of the hill which runs on East Broadway and near the regional Courthouse between "G" and "H" Streets.
From the North
From I-93. Take I-93 into Boston. Take Exit 20A at: Purchase Street. At end of ramp, Take Left at Lights toward Seaport District. Go over bridge and continue thru 6 traffic lights. Take RIGHT at "D" Street. Go passed 4 traffic lights to Summer Street. Take LEFT onto Summer Street. Continue along Summer Street, which becomes "L" Street. Continue straight for 4 lights to Broadway. Take Right onto East Broadway. St George is about 1/4 mile up the hill on your left.
From Route IA. Take Route 1A South toward Logan Airport/Williams Tunnel. Go thru Williams Tunnel toward I-93N/S. Exit right for "South Boston." Turn right at lights for 2 blocks. Turn right and proceed straight to Summer Street. Take left on Summer and proceed over bridge, becomes "L" Street. Proceed to Broadway. Turn right on Broadway. St. George is 1/4 mile up on the left.
From South of Boston
Take Route 3 North ( Interstate 93N) toward Boston. Take Exit 14: (Morrissey Blvd, UMass, JFK Library). Continue straight to Traffic Circle - entering at "6 o'clock." Bear right out of Rotary at "3 o'clock." Continue along Sea Road ( Carson Beach.) Go thru lights. Take Left at "I" Street for thru 2 traffic lights to Broadway. Take Left onto East Broadway. St. George Cathedral is two blocks up the hill on your left.
[Note: if you bypass "I" Street, you may continue to "L" Street and turn left. Proceed to Broadway. Turn left on Broadway. St. George is two closk up on your left.]
From West of Boston
Follow MassPike-East toward Boston. Take Exit 25: "South Boston." At end of ramp bear left. At Lights turn right onto Congress Street. At lights turn left onto Summer Street. Proceed over bridge: Summer becomes "L" Street. Proceed to 2nd lights: Broadway. Turn right onto Broadway. St. George is 1/2 mile on your left.
Via the MBTA
Take MBTA Red Line toward Quincy. Exit at Broadway Station. Take "City Point" Bus (Nr 9) and debark at "G" Street. St. George Cathedral is three doors from the corner on your right.
Bus or Train
Take Amtrack or Bus to South Station. St George Cathedral is a 15 minute walk or 5 minute taxi ride ( or take the "T" as above.)
From Logan Airport, by MBTA take the Blue line to Park Street, then the Red Line to Broadway Station and bus as above. If by car or taxi from Logan Airpoprt, take the Ted Williams Tunnel. Exit left onto "D" Street in South Boston, after one-half mile, left onto Broadway. St. George Cathedral is one-half mile on your right.
Worry-Free Parking for visiting The Cathedral
For your convenience, parking on Sunday mornings and other days is available at the South Boston High School lot at 95 "G" Street. It is located just 2 short blocks from the Cathedral and you may find a space inside the school gate and anywhere around the building.
Mid-Week parking is available on East Broadway for 2-hour intervals.
Please avail yourself of these options, which will be appreciated by us and by our neighbors as well.
